Chai Li, the youngest, was adopted from Vietnam as a baby and is a successful and happy thirty-something until her world is shattered by a humiliating turn of events. Chai Li’s reconnection with her birth mother brings unexpected complications when a life-changing issue arises for her adoptive parents Ray and Rosa. And the show’s central couple, Luce and Bernadette find new strength together as they deal with a major personal crisis.
